Year 6 Leavers

By the time a child leaves Cricklade Manor Prep, our intention is that each child has discovered their talents, experienced success and is able to move onwards with strong self-esteem and a personal belief in what they can achieve.

Our children go onto a range of excellent grammar, independent and state senior schools, including fellow Wishford school, Westonbirt School. For those children taking entrance exams, we have a programme of support to help them prepare.

In recent years, children have moved on to schools including Dean Close School, Dauntsey’s School, Pate’s Grammar School, Stroud High Grammar School and Rendcomb College.

11+ Success 2025

We are proud to announce that 11 out of 11 of our Year 6 children who sat the 11+ exams were successful, of whom 8 chose to join the grammar schools Stroud High, Sir Thomas Rich, and Pates Grammar School this year. Our children were also awarded the following scholarships:

1 – Academic and Art Scholarship to King Edward’s School, Bath (accepted)

1 – Sports Scholarship to Westonbirt School (accepted)

1 – Academic Scholarship to Dauntsey’s School (declined)

Summer 2025 Leavers

Other destination schools this year include Westonbirt School, Malmesbury School , Dean Close, St Helen and St Katharine, Kingshill School, Faringdon Community College, St Edward’s Cheltenham, and Warneford School.

We are incredibly proud of all our Leavers who achieved so much in their time with us. We know that the leadership, communication, and collaboration skills they have developed with us will serve them well in their secondary schools.

Summer 2025 Year 6 Attainment

To support the children’s progress, it is very important that we can assess them regularly to ensure we are supporting and challenging each individual child. As an independent school we are not restricted by the SATS but feel it is very important we have an accurate understanding of each child’s progress. We assess the children in Maths and English termly, which provides us with nationally recognised standardised scores in these areas.

As a non-selective school we are enormously proud of the achievements of our Y6 pupils. 100% of our Year 6 Leavers were ‘working at’ or ‘exceeding expectations’ in Maths. Similarly, over 91% of our Year 6 leavers were ‘working at’ or ‘exceeding expectations’ in the core area of English with 52% of the children exceeding expectations in Maths and Reading.
