RECEPTION 2025: EXPLORER MORNING AT CRICKLADE MANOR PREP

We welcomed our Reception 2025 families to a fun-filled Reception 2025: Explorer Morning—and what a fantastic time we had!
With their special explorer suitcases (sent through the post in advance), the children arrived ready to go, maps and magnifying glasses in hand.
Their mission? To explore the school with the help of our seven friendly Woodland Explorers, each linked to a different area of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
From the moment they stepped through the gates, the excitement was clear. Children were off on their own little adventures—following trails, solving clues, getting creative, and taking part in lots of hands-on activities designed to give them a taste of life at Cricklade Manor Prep.
Each activity station focused on a different area of learning, offering something for everyone—building, painting, exploring nature, storytelling, and more. It was lovely to see so many happy faces as the children got stuck in, working together, asking questions, and showing such brilliant curiosity.
Along the way, families had the chance to meet our wonderful staff and specialist subject teachers, who were on hand to welcome everyone and chat about what school life looks like here.

Families had a great time with one parent commenting: “Wow, we had a wonderful time—wish we had longer!
With just under a year to go, September 2025 might still seem a little while off, but mornings like this really help make that first step into school feel exciting and familiar. It’s all part of helping children build confidence and feel ready for their next big adventure.
Thank you to all the families who joined us—we loved having you, and we can’t wait to see many of you again soon!
