What to expect:

  • Starting at 9am, tour our bright, vibrant classrooms, and see our incredible facilities, including the Forest School site and dedicated sports areas.
  • Meet our dedicated subject specialist teachers and warm, welcoming staff. This is an excellent opportunity for parents to ask specific questions about the transition from pre-school to Reception and how we ensure a secure, happy start to school life.
  • Children will participate in unique, interactive activities linked to the ‘box of fun’ they will receive by post beforehand. This relaxed, hands-on session gives parents a direct view into our fun and creative learning approach.
  • Enjoy tea, coffee, and a selection of treats prepared by our fantastic in-house catering team.

Life in Cricklade Manor Prep Reception

We ensure a secure, happy start by using a predominantly play-based curriculum, which provides a seamless transition from nursery life. Our high adult-to-child ratio allows our experienced staff to truly tailor the education to individual interests, ensuring every child feels seen, celebrated, and supported. This crucial early learning time is enriched by weekly specialist lessons in Forest School, Sport, Languages, Music, and PE – giving your child an early advantage in key subject areas while significantly developing their curiosity and confidence.

Moving Through the School

As pupils progress through the Prep School, they access an increasingly broad and challenging curriculum delivered by subject experts. Specialist teaching expands across Science, Computing, and Art. The Creative Arts are central to development, with dedicated time for Drama and Music that culminates in inspiring annual performances where every child has the chance to express themselves. Our approach to Sport is one of inclusive competition, fostering determination, teamwork, and resilience. By Year 6, students take on significant leadership roles, ensuring they leave us with the maturity and independence needed for a successful transition to their chosen senior school.
