Exciting Leadership Announcement

Cricklade Manor Prep is delighted to announce an important and exciting transition in its leadership team, as Headmaster Guy Barrett prepares to take up a new role within Wishford Education and Deputy Head Emily Davies is appointed as the school’s next Head for January 2027.

After 5 years as Head of Heywood Prep and nearly a decade leading Cricklade Manor Prep, Guy has been promoted to the group-wide role of Director of Prep Schools and will join the Wishford Executive Board from January 2027. In his new position, he will work with Heads across the Wishford family of schools, supporting them to fulfil their full potential while continuing to play an active role in the life of Cricklade Manor.

Reflecting on the announcement, Guy said: “Leading Cricklade Manor has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together and of the values and culture that make this school such a special place.”

The school is equally pleased to announce that Emily Davies, currently Deputy Head, will succeed Guy as Head.

Having played a pivotal role in the school’s development over many years, Emily brings a wealth of experience, outstanding leadership and a deep understanding of the Cricklade Manor community.

Guy commented: “Emily is an exceptional educator and leader who is deeply committed to ensuring every child is known, valued and encouraged to flourish. I can think of no one better to lead Cricklade Manor into its next chapter.”

Emily said: “It is both an honour and a privilege to be appointed Head of Cricklade Manor Prep. I am excited to build on the strong foundations already in place and to continue providing an exceptional educational experience for every child in our care.”

As the school looks ahead, there is great excitement about the future. With strong foundations, a talented staff team and a clear vision, Cricklade Manor is exceptionally well placed to continue going from strength to strength.
