INSPIRING COLLABORATION: CHILDREN AND ARTIST PREPARE FOR WISHFORD ART EXHIBITION

Children at Cricklade Manor Prep have been given a truly wonderful opportunity in the lead-up to this year’s highly anticipated Wishford Art Exhibition. The exhibition, which brings together artistic talent from across all 10 Wishford schools, will take place on Monday 24 February at the inspiring Roots + Seeds Kitchen & Café in Cirencester. Adding even more excitement, the event will be judged by our special guest artist, Jenni Stuart.
This year’s theme, ‘Artist Inspiration‘, has encouraged pupils from Reception right through to Sixth Form to explore what sparks their creativity and to produce pieces that reflect their artistic talents.

At Cricklade Manor Prep, the children were especially fortunate to enjoy a day workshop with Jenni Stuart herself. Guided by her vibrant style and creative energy, pupils worked with bold acrylic paints, textured collage papers, and canvas to produce their own expressive masterpieces. Having Jenni in the classroom gave them the chance to gain inspiration directly from the source — learning first-hand what it means to be an artist, how to develop ideas, and the joy of turning imagination into art.

The day was filled with collaboration, creativity, and colour, as children immersed themselves in the process of making art while learning the importance of experimentation and expression. The workshop was supported by our very own talented art specialist, Mrs Brookes, whose passion and dedication continue to inspire our young artists.

Now, with their artwork complete, we look forward to seeing if any of these fantastic creations will be selected for the exhibition. Whatever the outcome, the experience itself has been invaluable — giving our pupils confidence, pride, and a true sense of what it means to be part of the artistic community.
We can’t wait to see the creativity of all Wishford pupils on display at Roots + Seeds, and to celebrate the joy of art together.
