CRICKLADE MANOR PREP AWARDED SILVER ECO SCHOOLS’ AWARD

This year the Earth Keepers have been focusing on keeping the school tidy with our weekly litter pick, emptying recycling bins every Friday and reminding everyone to switch off lights when leaving the classroom.

In addition to this, this term we have been working on a curriculum review, thinking about the lessons we are taught and how these lessons link to the 10 Eco-Schools’ topics. I have added an Eco-Tip of the week to the school newsletter, encouraging our parents and families to think about how they can be more eco-friendly at home.

We still have many plans in place such as talking to Colin in the kitchen about the amount of food waste we are producing. With this in mind, I am excited to announce that we have been awarded the Silver Eco Schools’ Award and are now only one step away from the Green Flag Award.

I would like to say a huge well done to all the Earth Keepers across the school for their support this year and also to all of you for always thinking about how we can look after our school and the planet!

Finally, as Mrs Davies is leaving to have her baby, I am pleased to announce that Mrs Bunn will be stepping in to support us until Mrs Davies returns. We look forward to welcoming you to our meetings, Mrs Bunn!
