It's ‘music for all’ at Cricklade Manor Prep. Dedicated music staff nurture and nourish our young musicians in the classroom, in extra-curricular activities, in rehearsal and performance,

Music is an integral part of the school, from Pre-Prep through to Year 8. We support those with the aptitude for music scholarship.

Performance walks hand in hand with learning and musical productions are a focus for both Juniors and Seniors through the year. We hold termly informal lunchtime concerts for pupils to practise playing an instrument or singing in front of an audience. All pupils are invited to join the Junior Choir (Years 3-5) or Senior Choir (Years 6-8), with places in the Chapel Choir being awarded to the finest choristers in the school. The school orchestra rehearses weekly and there are various ensembles to meet the diverse instrumental playing throughout the school.

Class lessons are often taught instrumentally - we have class sets of percussion, djembe, recorders, ukulele and PBuzz - the latest addition to the brass family.

We understand that choosing which instrument to play can be a difficult decision. Children are given demonstrations by peripatetic music staff and taster sessions to help decide which instrument is for them. At Cricklade Manor we offer tuition on: piano, violin, flute, clarinet, drums, guitar, saxophone, oboe, trumpet, cornet and ukulele as well as voice training.
