Haute Couture came to Cricklade Manor Prep with the first ever Cricklade Award, Trashathon. The red carpet was laid and our catwalk set up, all we needed was our models. Year 5/6 children involved in the Cricklade Award, had been busy cutting, crimping and sticking to create fabulous creations out of recycled materials which would have graced even the catwalks of Milan. There followed a veritable feast of fashion, with amazing outfits which included ones based on the battle of good versus evil as well as wonderful gowns and even ‘Elf Shoes’ which we are told are all the rage in Lapland There were top hats out of toilet rolls for the discerning man about town. If you are stuck to wear for the next Christmas party look no further than ‘the box tree’ creatively designed with useful Christmas accessories. The final outfit was a stunning outfit named ‘Winter WonderLand Fairytale.’ This wonderful creation had a long train with decorations. To complete the outfit there was a deck of cards collar and it was topped off with a fancy musical hat. The show was finished by a stunning parade of all the outfits accompanied by a great beat arranged by the children.
My thanks must go to Mr Towers for his great compering and Mrs Wielinska for all her help.
