Exciting opportunities with Olly Morgan

This week we welcomed a special guest to our Games lessons. Olly Morgan, ex England and Gloucester Full-back who is currently Director of Rugby at Cheltenham College joined us for two training sessions. Our first session saw the boys working on evasive running, particularly looking to attack space at speed and then using our agility to beat a defender. The boys gained a great deal from this session and it was pleasing to see them applying the principles from the training into a game at the end of the session.

In the second session we had a focus on decision making with the ball in hand, getting the boys to look up and think about the play they were trying to create. We performed a number of game based drills giving the boys an opportunity to discover new skills which they may be required to use in different situations. Again it was pleasing to see the boys transferring these skills into a game at the end of the session. We would like to extend our thanks to Olly for giving our boys such a wonderful opportunity and look forward to establishing this link further in future.
